The Tasmanian Red Wine Weekend is where vignerons and wine makers from across Tasmania come together to showcase their superb range of reds from a variety of vintages for you to try.

This is your opportunity to meet, greet and chat with the heart of the Tasmanian wine industry - and most importantly over a glass of wine!

Door sales are available throughout the course of the event.

3. Style and Substance - Saturday May 23rd, 2pm to 3.30pm
Join Nick Stock for a tasting of Pinot Noir that explores a myriad of Pinot Noir styles with wines featured from right around the world of Pinot Noir. We’ll look at how the interpretive role of the winemaker interacts with the influence of terroir in delivering wines of distinctively different character, all originating from the one great grape variety. Wines featured from Tasmania, mainland Australia, New Zealand and Burgundy.

Including 8 shiraz, tempranillo and others.
Plus 3 bench mark shiraz and tempranillo from Spain and France.

With a “Jimmy Watson” trophy under “our” belt, Tasmanian shiraz and other “non pinot” varieties are being noticed. Taste the latest with top benchmarking wines.

6. Terroir in Focus – Sunday May 24th, 2pm – 4pm
Award-winning Australian wine critic Nick Stock returns to the Red Wine Weekend to host fellow pinot noir enthusiasts on a journey that delves deep into discovering the taste of great Tasmanian terroir. Nick will lead you on a region-by-region tour of Tasmania’s best Pinot Noir wines, starting with the Tamar and Piper’s River in the north, down through the East Coast, through the Coal River Valley across to the Derwent Valley, finishing in the southerly Huon. A rare opportunity to see such a line up of Tasmanian Pinot Noirs, compared across two vintages being 2012 and 2014.
