Melbourne get ready, because Christmas is set to be more spectacular than ever this year! The jaw-dropping LEGO® Christmas Tree adorned with a brand new star, is set to shine in Federation Square from Friday 27 November to Saturday 27 December 2015.

The tree, built especially for Australian Lego fans, will soar close to 10m tall and is made from half a million Lego bricks, making it the largest Lego Christmas tree in the Southern Hemisphere. Twinkling proudly on top this year, will be a stunning new star personally designed and built by Lego Master Builder Chris Steininger and his family, who are flying down under from the USA to join in the Aussie Christmas celebrations.

The special Lego visitors have ‘Aussie-fied’ the tree with new additions this year including cricket bat-wielding elves, mischief-making kookaburras and the merry man himself, Santa Claus. Melbournians can witness the magical tree come to life with a daily light show set to much-loved Christmas carols, guaranteed to bring a touch of awesome to the city’s festive celebrations.

Lego Master Builder Chris Steininger will officially launch the Lego Christmas Tree on Friday 27 November at Federation Square as part of Fed Square’s broader Christmas activity program and the wider City of Melbourne Christmas celebrations, which includes a magical Christmas forest in Swanston Street’ Christmas Square, the Gingerbread Village at Melbourne Town Hall and a citywide festive decorations program.

So come along to witness the official lighting of the tree and be inspired to Build Your Lego Christmas!
