To mark World Food Day as well as Anti-Poverty Week (11-17 October), Foodbank NSW & ACT will be hosting The Big Breakfast, a fundraiser to tackle the hidden issue of hunger in NSW and the ACT.

The fundraiser will take place at Wynyard Park on Friday 16th October 2015 between 7am and 1:30pm and will help Foodbank raise vital funds and supplies to meet their challenge of producing 100,000 breakfasts to Aussies in need.

A small donation will buy a breakfast with every $2 donated supplying five healthy, nutritious breakfasts to those in need.

Attending the event is Hon Leslie Williams MP, Minister for Early Childhood Education, Aboriginal Affairs and Assistant Minister for Education, healthy eating guru Dr Joanna McMillan, who will be providing nutrition tips, and Foodbank NSW & ACT CEO Gerry Andersen, who will be speaking on the hidden issue of hunger in NSW and the ACT. Over 90,000 people in NSW rely on food relief services each month.

Big Breakfast sponsor Kellogg’s will be providing products from both its new and classic breakfast range and will also be bringing along a Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman to the event. Kendrick Louis from North Sydney’s Newport Beach and Tara Coleman from Queensland’s North Burleigh will be in attendance at the event to lend their support to help fight hunger across the state.

George Weston Foods and Pace Farm will also be donating food at the event.
