To close a highly successful year of critically acclaimed, sell-out productions of John B. Keane’s “Big Maggie” and award winning One Act Festival, The Irish Theatre Players (ITP) present Noel O'Neill's 'Last Bus to Contrition'.

A funny, emotional and honest play, Noel O'Neill's 'Last Bus to Contrition' follows the lives of three Irish girls who are trying to understand the early years of their childhood. Set in regional Ireland in the 1960's, it reveals the trials and tribulations of these young girls (and a couple of lads) who stumble through their sexual awakening and the maturity of their teenage years. When we revisit the girls 20 years later in Act II, we hear the joys and sorrows they have experienced over the years.

After viewing a rehearsal, one eminent reviewer noted that the play explores “A situation that is highly emotional, tragic", and that it is "A turbulent comedy, defined by the humorous aspects of life events."

This insightful, entertaining, superbly written tale looks through the eyes of both the younger and older women as they take on life’s battles and embrace the joys and confusion of family. The audience is taken on a journey as the girls experience the vices and joys familiar to us all.

Come and meet The Irish Theatre Player’s ITA Award-winning Front of House team, and let them transport you to back to 1960's Ireland! We believe in giving our audiences a complete theatrical experience, so expect nothing less than our customary Irish Theatre Player’s hospitality, including the traditional Irish pub and shop supplemented with port on arrival and tasty supper of authentic Irish fare. As always, be surprised with the range of wonderful raffle prizes all courtesy of our amazing local sponsors ( with all proceeds going to replacing our ever- ageing theatre equipment).

We look forward to welcoming you!
