Featuring Country Legend Adam Harvey and Catherine Britt with The Tennessee Three, the Helpmann Award winning show is heading to Tasmania for one night only.

Adam Harvey will be taking up the mantel of The Man In Black with Catherine Britt, revealing the tumultuous love story and singing the timeless classics of Country Music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter.

Of the past six years The Man In Black has played in every major city and performed in every major theatre in Australia, however has yet to play in many of Australia’s country towns.

Over the two hour performance Adam Harvey’s full bass voice will boom out the lyrics to 20 of Cash’s best-known songs including Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, A Boy Named Sue, and Jackson with the boom-chica-boom rhythms of his backing band, The Tennessee Three.

As in Cash’s life, there is a strong woman by his side. Australian Country music Queen, Catherine Britt pays homage to Cash’s second wife, June Carter, who Cash performed and toured with for 35 years until she died in 2003.

Britt’s voice is honey to Harvey’s bass and their duet on the Grammy Award-winning Jackson is an unforgettable highlight.

The Man in Black is more than just a musical tribute to Cash. The stories that unfold between these iconic songs from the twentieth century American songbook work as part-documentary and part-memoir.

The Man In Black takes the audience on a journey into Johnny Cash’s early life in the cotton fields to his famous performance in the Folsom Prison, the urge Cash had for social justice, and also for his appetite for cocaine and Jesus.

An angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other, The Man In Black will be the highlight of 2015.
