Featuring Opera Australia regulars; Anna-Louise Cole as Tosca, Sitiveni Talei aS Scarpia & Martin Buckingham As Cavaradossi.

Music by Giacomo Puccini and libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, Tosca is a tour de force, delivering sweeping, lush orchestration and intense drama. Puccini’s melodrama thrusts a volatile opera diva, a sadistic, lustful yet sophisticated head of police, and an idealistic artist, to collide head on. Critics and audiences alike, often find themselves at odds with the stark contrast of beauty, disgust, love, violence and heroism that is Tosca. It is this very conflict of extremes, however, which aims to define the fabric of our humanity.

A first time Opera Van Diemensland & Sydney Independent Opera collaboration, delivers an exciting original production combining audio visual design, orchestra and talent. Conducted by Steven Stanke, this show is not to be missed!
