Whisky's undergone somewhat of a cultural reinvigoration of late. For many it is just as much an adventure as it is a drink, inviting you to indulge in its diversity. Each country traditionally produces its own style of whisky, but even within that style there is now an incredible range of whiskys to choose from.

Whisky devotee Dan Woolley loves a dram so much he’s got the “Whiskey” tattooed on his knuckles. For the past 20 years Woolley has been able to turn his fixation into a career that included owning his own whisky bar, training bartenders and creating whisky lists for more than 200 bars across Australia. He has a personal collection of more than 800 bottles.

"I don't remember how many distilleries I've visited over the years. I know I've been to more than 50 in Scotland alone and tasted more than 2000 whiskies,” he said.

On Tuesday, August 18 Woolley will host a whisky dinner at Carmody’s Bar in Southport as Coca-Cola Amatil's premium spirit brand ambassador.

For $55 per person, guests can enjoy five delectable courses, carefully paired with signature whiskys from around the world.

Arrival time is 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Woolley will talk guests through each whiskey, touching on region, ingredients and distillation, food paring and tasting notes.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase products after the dinner.
