Whitehorse City Council’s annual Heritage Week will be held from 10-17 September 2015.

This year, we celebrate the ANZAC Centenary with a particular focus on commemorating the involvement of Whitehorse residents in WWI.

Heritage Week provides a wonderful opportunity to be part of the Whitehorse community.

The Program of Events cater for a range of interests and offer the opportunity to connect with other people as well as the incredible history of war times past.

Seeking adventure, young Australians Archy Hamilton (Mark Lee) and Frank Dunne (Mel Gibson) enlist to fight in World War I. Deployed to Gallipoli, they find themselves involved in the Battle of the Nek, a doomed push against the Turkish trenches by the 8th and 10th Light Horse. Directed by Peter Weir, this classic film is a moving elegy about war, friendship and the loss of innocence.
