A mischievous family of Gremlins are trying to fulfil their dream of flying by launching their very own 28% reliable budget airline.
The passengers are strapped in and the doors are closed. There's only one problem...they haven't finished building the plane.
The Gremlins are a dysfunctional family of flight-obsessed creatures with a penchant for grease, engines and potatoes. Entrepreneurially minded but plagued by naivety, they figure they might be able to get customers to fund their skyward ventures instead of needing to steal ALL their materials. The Gremlins are a street/outdoor theatre project based on clown and physical comedy combined with a unique culture and language. The Gremlins were developed for the Woodford Folk Festival in 2010 by visual theatre-makers Alex Podger and Jenna Koda and Cirque du Soleil alumnus Hayden Spencer. They've set up camp on a beach at Cairns Festival, trying to launch a truck into the sky at Anywhere Theatre Festival and barely surviving several disastrous rocket launches at Woodford Folk Festival.
