Free, inclusive, accessible community event.
The Beach Day Out event is held annually during Disability Action Week at Bell Park and Fisherman’s Beach and aims to provide a fun day at the beach for the whole community, and in particular for people with a disability who may ordinarily have difficulty in easily accessing such an event.
Importantly, the inclusive event also aims to: promote positive attitudes towards those with a disability; break down stereotypes; highlight access issues in the community that affect people with disabilities from easily accessing services and facilities; improve community support for those with a disability, by providing information, linking of services and establishing links and partnerships between agencies; and provide a wide range of free, inclusive activities that are engaging and fun for persons with a whole range of abilities.
