Are you worried that you, or someone you care about, might have a problem with alcohol?
Join this next community education night where we will share information that could help you. In our Australian culture drinking alcohol to celebrate and socialise is firmly entrenched and accepted as everyday practice, but many people whose drinking is a problem can have hard time admitting that it is.
All are welcome but registration is essential: registrations@southpacificprivate.com.au
Chris Mordue, the Program Manager, will present a clear introduction about alcohol addiction and share practical advice on how someone who has a problem with drinking might behave. This education night will identify the signs and symptoms of alcohol addiction and explain the support options available to you. The evening will contain a presentation from one of our experience team on problem drinking; what it looks like, common traits, tips on how to recognise the symptoms / signs, and suggestions for support.
What are the signs of alcohol addiction?
Increasing tolerance – needing more amounts of alcohol to have the same effects.
Impaired control – lacking the ability to limit the amount you drink.
Physical dependence – experiencing intense cravings for alcohol and withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, sweating and shakes.
Denial – refusing to face reality about how alcohol could be affecting your life.
