Each year the Converge Jazz Festival gives students from the Sydney Conservatorium jazz program the opportunity to form groups and collaborate on a project with an elected Australian artist of their choice. Made possible by Sydney University’s larger Verge Festival, Converge aims to give students the
opportunity to learn from workshopping and performing material of their choice with an established jazz artist. This year’s program is particularly diverse, with ensemble projects ranging from electronic and pop, to New Orleans style brass bands, to modern jazz originals. Come hear some of Sydney’s next gen of improvisers rub shoulders on stage with Australian jazz legends.
Special guests: Carl Morgan, Carl Dewhurst and Mike Rivett. All with Sydney Con jazz student bands.
