The Multi-Award Winning One Act Comedy Hits the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Married bliss or hit and miss.

Four vastly different married couples descend on the peaceful country setting of the Paradise Valley Couples Retreat, for a weekend of relationship therapy.

Sharing their stories and situations, and revealing their true selves, events unfold to explore their relationships warts and all, giving the audience a fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the character's private worlds. Will the couples survive counselling, or will the cracks that develop be too deep?

Based on real life, the production focuses on realistic relationships and explores the themes of marriage, commitment and love. Under the guidance of their hosts and councillors, the couples interact and reveal their issues, with the aim of strengthening their individual unions, resulting in some touching moments, many comical situations and surprising revelations.

"Couples!" won a raft of awards on the One Act Festival circuit including Best Comedy, Best Ensemble, Best Australian Play and many Audience Choice awards, and is an insightful and poignant production that anyone who has been married or in a serious relationship can relate to. It serves as a warning not to enter into marriage lightly.

Written and directed by Phillip A Mayer.

Garnering over 40 nominations, the show won a raft of awards touring festivals during 2014, including Best Comedy, Best Ensemble and various Audience Choice Awards and in 2015 it had a sell-out season at La Mama. 2016 sees the show make its Melbourne Comedy Festival debut.
