Douglas Walker brings his unique brand of uplifting melancholy to Fringe World with his debut solo show, Möglich. Meaning "possible" in German, Möglich is an hour of sketches, stories, silliness and sadness. It’s not too sad, though. Just the right amount. It features original music, a cast of characters astonishingly extensive for one man, and a bit where he nearly drowns. He’s wondering if you’d like to come along, as it would be a shame to nearly drown for nothing.

Never scared to go where other comedians dare not tread, Walker explores the creative process and the difficulties and doubts that go along with it, critiquing his own show as it is still in progress. The show is about the relationship of comedy to tragedy, and the relationship of comedians to both.

Expect Shakespearian hip-hop, Britain’s greatest lollipop man being pulled out of retirement for one last job, and a really good joke about Samuel Pepys (don't worry, he'll explain who that is).

Performer biography:
Douglas has spent the past decade honing his razor sharp wit with improvised impresarios Racing Minds, including sell out seasons at Edinburgh Fringe and Perth Fringe World, and the prestigious Oxford Imps, whom he directed for their 2011 show at Edinburgh Fringe. His recent credits include everything from lending his voice to an election campaign video for the British Green Party, to giving a guest lecture on improvised comedy at the University of Westminster and regularly hosting one of London's most innovative events, Stand Up Philosophy. He is 5'10 with green eyes, and the first single he ever bought was "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia.

"Douglas Walker is an effortlessly affable and eccentric authoritarian, with a flawless talent for accents." - Theatre Bubble - 4 stars

"A very accomplished comedy show with slick stagecraft and presence. It’s funny, and not merely in one vein – Möglich stretches all the comedy muscles. It’s intelligent humour – clever, but not smug. It’s hard to believe that this is Walker’s first solo show. Definitely one to watch." - To Do List - 4 stars

"Walker is a gifted actor and his show has remarkable range, veering from darkness into the whimsical – at times blending the two with devastating effect. Möglich is a clever performance from an enviable talent." - The Skinny - 3 stars

"A one-man sketch act which broadens out the form with exciting effect. A very original act whose material and performance has us firmly lodged in the palm of his hand. A bold and thought-provoking hour." - The List - 4 stars

"All is not what it seems, and nothing in this piece is predictable. This piece is a comedy adventure of discovery. The humour is offbeat and Walker remains in left field throughout. An excellent and enjoyable piece of comic theatre." - Fringe Guru - 4 stars
