This event offers participants the chance to join Heritage Perth’s Executive Director Richard Offen for a walk around the beautifully revitalised and newly named, Cathedral Square.

Encompassing St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church which was built in 1906 to replace the first Presbyterian Church in Western Australia; the Gothic splendour of St George’s Cathedral and Burt Memorial Hall, a lasting legacy to two much loved sons, killed in action near the village of Montauban in France in 1916, this walk will allow you to rediscover this inner-city precinct.

The walk will also journey through the history of the Old Deanery, which in 1857 was known as “Pownall’s Parsonage”, and the ‘jewel in the crown’, the State Buildings. Formerly the Old Treasury Building, General Post Office, the Lands Department and the Titles Office, this building has been described as one of Australia’s finest and has recently been superbly restored after almost twenty years of dormancy.

Grab your hat and walking shoes for a gentle guided stroll around and through Cathedral Square.

This event is free, but bookings are required, Bookings open 11 April 2016
