Jackie will perform a selection of her favourite Bossas, Ballads and Cool Jazz tunes. Featuring the highly accomplished guitarist Geoff Hughes, drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer and the virtuosic Philip Rex on bass.

Jackie Bornstien (voice)
Having performed venues in Australia and the UK over the past 15 years, Jackie has developed a particular talent for storytelling through song. Known for her richly toned vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie imparts a range of emotions through her use of varied vocal timbres.

Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz voice at the Victorian College of the Arts. She was awarded a UK Masters scholarship and focused her thesis on the role of the arts/music in conflict resolution.

Geoff Hughes (guitar)
Geoff Hughes is one of Australia’s leading improvising guitarists with over 25 years of professional experience in Australia and overseas. In Europe he supported jazz greats Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman and Herb Ellis. Geoff has performed with leading Australian artists including Michelle Nicolle, Allan Browne, Paul Grabowsky, Joe Chindamo, Paul Williamson, Jamie Oelhers and many others.

Philip Rex (bass)
One of the most virtuosic and sought-after double bassists in the country, Philip has worked with many of the greatest musicians in Australia and overseas including Paul Grabowsky, Doug DeVries, Vince Jones, Johnny Griffin, Eddie Henderson, Joe Williams and Cindy Blackman.

Danny Fischer (drums)
Drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer, continues to be one of the most in-demand jazz drummers in Melbourne after returning from New York. Danny has worked with a long list of top Australian and international musicians including Barney McAll, Gary Bartz, James Williams, George Colligan and Paul Bollenbeck. While in New York he performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Barney McAll and at Radio City Music Hall alongside Patty LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross.
