Jackie Bornstein (voice)
Having performed venues in Australia and the UK over the past 15 years, Jackie has developed a particular talent for storytelling through song. Known for her richly toned vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie imparts a range of emotions through her use of varied vocal timbres. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz voice at the Victorian College of the Arts and a UK Masters scholarship focusing on the role of the arts/music in conflict resolution. Her influences include Nina Simone, Carmen McRae, Dianne Reeves and Patti Cathcart.

Sam Keevers (piano)
A highly accomplished and in-demand pianist, Sam has performed with many of the most noted Australian and International musicians including Bernie McGann, Kate Ceberano, The Black Sorrows, Stephen Magnusson, The Bamboos, Katie Noonan, Vince Jones, Ricky Lee Jones, Sinead O’connor, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Sam has composed for feature films and television, has arranged for the Australian Art Orchestra and was nominated for an ARIA award for the album “Grace” (a duo recording with Jamie Oehlers).

Philip Rex (bass)
One of the most virtuosic and sought-after double bassists in the country, Philip has worked with many of the greatest musicians in Australia and overseas including Paul Grabowsky, Doug DeVries, Vince Jones, Johnny Griffin, Eddie Henderson, Joe Williams and Cindy Blackman.

Hugh Harvey (drums)
Hugh plays regularly with many of Australia’s top jazz musicians. Performing with Leigh Barker and Tom Vincent, Hugh opened for the Branford Marsalis Quartet on their 2010 Oz tour. Hugh was a semi-finalist in the Wangaratta National Jazz Awards and has toured extensively.

The event will be at the Lido Jazz Room.
