Enjoy the richly emotive vocals of Jackie Bornstein as she performs a selection of her favourite Bossas, Ballads and Cool Jazz tunes. Featuring the incredible guitarist Hugh Stuckey, drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer and the virtuosic Philip Rex on bass. Lido Jazz Room is an intimate new venue tucked underneath a cinema screen and down a narrow stairway. A gorgeous setting where you can also enjoy the full Lido Cinemas food and drink menu. Line-up Details

Jackie Bornstein (voice)
Having performed venues in Australia and the UK over the past 15 years, Jackie has developed a particular talent for storytelling through song. Known for her richly toned vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie imparts a range of emotions through her use of varied vocal timbres. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz voice at the Victorian College of the Arts and a UK Masters scholarship focusing on the role of the arts/music in conflict resolution. Her influences include Nina Simone, Carmen McRae, Dianne Reeves and Patti Cathcart.

Hugh Stuckey (guitar)
Since duetting with Tommy Emmanuel at age eleven, Hugh has gone on to be at the forefront of jazz guitar in Australia. Hugh is highly in demand and plays regularly with Australia’s finest including James Morrison’s touring band. He was a recipient of the James Morrison Scholarship, a finalist in the Wangaratta National Jazz Awards, has toured Europe and recorded in New York.

Philip Rex (bass)
One of the most virtuosic and sought-after double bassists in the country, Philip has worked with many of the greatest musicians in Australia and overseas including Paul Grabowsky, Doug DeVries, Vince Jones, Johnny Griffin, Eddie Henderson, Joe Williams and Cindy Blackman.

Danny Fischer (drums)
Drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer, continues to be one of the most in demand jazz drummers in Melbourne after returning from New York. Danny has worked with top Australian and international musicians including Barney McAll, Gary Bartz, James Williams, George Colligan and Paul Bollenbeck. While in New York he performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Barney McAll and at Radio City Music Hall alongside Patty LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross.
