Come and celebrate the Australian wool industry and one of its most revered legends at the Jackie Howe Festival of the Golden Shears. At the historic Jondaryan Woolshed near Toowoomba you can experience what life was like for the pioneers who paved the way for the Australian sheep, wool and meat industry.

You will be transported back in time to the 1890s, the heyday of the Jondaryan Woolshed, in the Woolshed Re-enactment. Get a glimpse of what it was like inside the world’s oldest and largest shearing shed in the premier wool-growing region in Australia, where more than 500,000 sheep were shorn each year.

Highlights include Australia’s richest shearing and wool handling competition, blade shearing demonstrations, wool fashion show, lamb-inspired long lunch, sheep dog trials, markets, traditional trades and crafts demonstrations, live music and more.

The Cafe and Damper Hut will be open throughout the three days as well as various food stalls. There is a Camp Oven Dinner on the Friday night, the Shearers Feast on the Saturday night and a Father's Day Brunch on the Sunday morning.
