Musical Offering features the presentation of gorgeous violin and cello sonatas by Schumann and Brahms plus two piano trios by Schubert and award-winning Australian composer Julian Yu which includes a genial look back to J.S. Bach’s Musical Offering.

Pianist Selby and ACO Principal Cello Timo-Veikko Valve perform with special guest and rising star Canadian violinist Nikki Chooi – winner of the 2013 Michael Hill International Violin Competition.

The program includes performances of the following pieces:
Julian Yu – ‘Prelude and not-a-fugue’ for piano trio
Johannes Brahms – Cello Sonata No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 38
Robert Schumann – Violin Sonata No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 105
Franz Schubert – Trio No. 1 in B-flat major for Piano, Violin, and Violincello, Op. 99, D 898
