Gertrude Opera's Nagambie Lakes Opera Festival returns for it's second year, in regional Victoria on Father's Day Weekend! (2nd-4th of September).

Over the course of two days and two nights, in conjunction with Tahbilk Winery, Michelton Wines and Fowles Wines, the Nagambie Lakes Opera Festival will deliver a world-class feast of opera, food and wine for all tastes.

Set among an idyllic Victorian river setting, opera lovers, food and music lovers alike will be immersed in culture and exposed to an array of local, international and emerging artistic talent.

Bastien and Bastienne is one of the shows in the Opera Festival taking place in Fowles Wine's Wine Shed on the 3rd and 4th of September.

Written when he was barely twelve years old, Bastien und Bastienne is unmistakably Mozart: beautifully crafted melodies, deft comic touches with genuine pathos and drama. Bastienne’s (Alexandra Lidgerwood) jealousy is roused upon seeing her lover, Bastien (Spencer Chapman) being charmed by another woman. She enlists the help of local fortune-teller Colas to alleviate her pain and to win her boyfriend back. Colas’ antics initially imperil the lovers’ relationship, but eventually the two are reconciled, and live happily ever after.

VIP Festival Package includes complimentary pre-show coffee.
