In 2014, Olivia Chindamo took the Melbourne jazz scene by storm after winning James Morrison’s Generations In Jazz Vocal Scholarship. Since her win, she has become one of the most sought-after jazz vocalists in the country and has performed to sold-out audiences of all sizes including regular performances all over Australia with James Morrison himself.

Olivia is best known for her ability to improvise or "scat" - especially at fiery bebop tempos, but her talent doesn’t end there. With an incredibly versatile, yet unique voice, Olivia is able to deliver everything from a speedy swing tune to a heart-breaking ballad. She has a love for all things vintage and enjoys paying tribute to the show tunes of the 1930s and 1940s, that we all recognise as “jazz standards” today.

"She's what every jazz instrumentalist wants to hear - when Olivia scats, it's like having another great horn player in the band.” - James Morrison, AM

"Occasionally a special and unique singer appears out of the blue, Olivia Chindamo is such a singer. She is capable of producing a sensitive ballad to a roaring up-tempo. She is what is known as a "musician's singer" - one who speaks the same language as a horn player. Keep your eyes and ears on Olivia so you don't miss the great things that will happen for her." - Graeme Lyall, AM
