Paint a New Picture - Potrait Painting Workshop

Sun 19 Jun 2016, 1:00pm–5:00pm

Where: Kurilpa Point Park, Montague Road, Brisbane CBD, Queensland

Restrictions: All Ages

Listed by: erinfkennedy

Spend an afternoon in the park, painting and being inspired by stories of people who have achieved great things, despite the hardships they have faced. You will hear the stories of three refugees who will sit for a live portrait session while you paint one of their portraits. Our finished paintings will be curated into a large multi-panelled artwork, and will be submitted to The Archibald Prize Portrait Painting Competition.

No artistic experience necessary (we promise!), the session is led by artists from Cork & Chroma. All arty stuff sorted!

This is a not-for profit event. Proceeds from this event will be donated to local refugee support services.

Guests are welcome to bring a favourite non-alcoholic beverage and nibbles for the afternoon, but please note as we are in a public park, this is not a BYO alcohol event.

This is an outdoor event. Kurilpa Park is located just next to GOMA, one block from Cork & Chroma. We’ll have your art station set up.
