During the 1980’s Sally King was an integral part of Sydney’s inner city blues scene with her band The Champions. Her contemporaries included The Mighty Reapers, The Hippo’s, The Bondi Cigars and The Foreday Riders - all legends of Aussie blues.

In the 90’s Sally was a musical tour de force, appearing at all the cool venues in and around Sydney including The Basement, The Manzil Room and The Bondi Lifesaver, building up a sizeable following in the process.

From 2003 to the present Sally has worked on original projects with her musical partner / bass player and husband, David Green, writing together and independently. This partnership has developed over 26 years of making beautiful music together and forms the nucleus of their current musical identity, Sametribe.

2012 saw the recording of ‘Solid Flesh and Blood’ - an album chock full of Sally’s original songs that feature her soulful vocal style, strong melodies, catchy hooks and danceable rhythms.

Sally has recently produced an outstanding new, live DVD from her 2015 appearance at Wollongong Blues Club’s International Blues Music Day.

"We did some really fun and interesting shows last year including a spot on WBC's International Blues Music Day. The gig was filmed and recorded and I have to admit I feel pretty proud of the results. I've had a limited edition of DVDs made and we're going back to where it all happened to launch our DVD and recreate the show. Ross Ward will feature on electrifyin' guitar and doing some of his great blues numbers and we're adding in some classic blues to round out the show. It will be a night to get your blues juices going folks. Check it out - it's free!" - Sally
