Slum Sociable - Name Call Tour

Thu 1 Dec 2016, 8:00pm

Where: Howler, 7-11 Dawson St, Brunswick, Victoria

Restrictions: 18+

Melbourne duo Slum Sociable return with a swaggering new single ‘Name Call’, and the exciting news of tour dates for November through to December.

Steeped in groove, and merging soul with hip-hop and electronica, ‘Name Call’ is the first cut from the subversive Melbourne duo’s highly-anticipated debut album. It was premiered on triple j’s 'Good Nights' last night along with Clash Magazine(UK).

‘Name Call’ adds to Slum Sociable’s already impressive repertoire, which includes single ‘Anyway’, along with ‘All Night’ and ‘Apartment’ from their debut EP, TQ.

TQ was released late in 2015. The EP’s seductive charm saw Slum Sociable cut through internationally, gracing the Top 5 of the Hype Machine charts, popping up on a host of Spotify playlists and receiving love from global radio station Beats 1, along with BBC Radio 1 and KCRW. It also saw the duo release a single via tastemaker label Kitsune and tour globally: playing a string of headline dates in the UK and US on top of sold-out shows back home. This year, Slum Sociable performed at coveted Australian festivals Laneway and Splendour in the Grass.

With the new single also comes news of local tour dates for November and December. The tour will see Edward Quinn and Miller Upchurch heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney – their first headline tour in nearly a year.

Slum Sociable are currently placing the finishing touches to their debut album, due for release in early 2017.
