The ladies of St. Mark's Women's Guild are once again offering the region's rose growers the opportunity to showcase their talents with five competition sections for the upcoming Rose Festival. Full details of how to and what can be entered are shown in the Competition Schedule available from St. Mark's Church and Office or by contacting Sue Nalder by email at ''.

With no charge to enter the Rose Competition, experienced and emerging rose growers can win cash prizes and any or all of five perpetual trophies which are engraved with the names of the respective winners. Entries must be brought to the Parish Hall on Grafton Street between 8:30 and 10:30am for judging from 11am.

The Prizes and Trophies are awarded at the Afternoon Social which begins at 1:30pm. An affordable $6 entry includes an indulgent afternoon tea featuring the famed baking of the Guild ladies. Admire the form and perfume of roses grown by your friends and neighbours in the display and maybe learn some tips for your own gardening success. Listen to the advice from the Judge and understand how the winning entries were decided. Then cheer the prize winners during the presentation of the prizes and coveted trophies. Your entry ticket will also include a lucky door prize and musical entertainment from talented local songbirds Sue Needer and Laraine Stanley. The main raffle will also be drawn and a mini cent sale, with over 80 prizes, will complete the afternoon's events.

A delight to the senses, some sweet indulgences and the opportunity to gain some rose growing tips as you enjoy the company of your friends and neighbours are just some of the reasons to attend the 54th Annual Rose Festival.
