We all want to be superheroes, right? Well, here is your chance to train with the best. Superhero Training Academy is now recruiting.

The Superhero Training Academy is an interactive theatrical workshop experience for kids aged 5 – 8.

The Academy will train the whole Superhero, from head to heart and back again. Recruits will learn to Move, Look and Act like a Superhero. There will be dancing, prop making, slogan-chanting, running, jumping and more.

In a 90-minute workshop, recruits are led by a rotating team of trainers – failed superheroes who have been left in charge of the Academy while the Big Boss is away. The trainers coach the core tenets of Bravery, Individuality and Super Skills in the fight for good. But when things go awry and the bad guys are revealed to be hiding within their ranks, recruits will have to bust out their newly learnt skills in an awesome action-packed finale.

Developed by award-winning theatre makers and educators, the Superhero Training Academy is DIY workshop meets theatre meets magic, told in rap and rhyming slang.

Julia Billington is Dr Sally Sugarplum aka Miss Menagerie. Julia graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2008 and has worked across film, television, and theatre. Charles Purcell is Graham Greyruhm aka Old Man Technology. Charles is a Melbourne-based actor and theatre maker who graduated from the VCA in 2015. Catherine Davies is Dee Davies aka Collateral Glamage. Catherine graduated from QUT with a BFA (Acting) in 2006 and trained at HB Studio, New York in 2010. Catherine has theatre credits in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and New York. Catherine has also trained as a musician and dancer and received the Ashley Wilke Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Performing Arts.

Parents are encouraged to sit in the auditorium for free and watch their children participate. A complimentary adult ticket will be admitted with the child ticket holder.
