Join us on a Friday afternoon for a relaxed exploration of the world of Tibetan Buddhism. We watch a short video from the Discovering Buddhism programme, then there's a chance to discuss the topic and ask questions. The session ends with a guided meditation. A new topic will be explored each week in a 6-8 week cycle, but you are also welcome to attend on a casual basis; no prior knowledge is required. Topics include mind and its potential, how to meditate, establishing a daily practice, karma and transforming problems.

Classes are open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation or current knowledge of Buddhism. Your donations help us to keep this program running.

Established 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreatants and guests. Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in the formal garden, sip espresso in the cafe, have a vegetarian meal, drop in for a meditation class or teaching, or just sit and listen to life.
