Teen Transition is a financial education game where the room is the board, the students are the pieces and the lessons last a lifetime.

The game is based is based on a set of simple rules and shadows real life, a person moving through life – at each step learning and dealing with something new.

The players start by choosing a career. There is no right or wrong careers. The various careers on offer has different financial benefits. The players then proceed to choose transportation, accommodation and some other lifestyle choices. All choices have a financial implication.

Each player proceed to receive a paycheck at the start of the month, and then proceeds to tear it up to meet all their expenses. Of course we follow the basics... the game is after all about real life – so each player has to pay themselves enough money and then proceed to procure assets. The purpose of this is to enable them to build up an asset base, as we all know this does come in handy at a later stage in life, liquid cash isn’t the best when it’s sitting in your account gathering dust.

Different events and opportunities are presented to the players during the game where they have to make decisions that will have a financial impact. The concept of credit is also introduced where they have to make a choice between good and bad debt.

We teach children how to make their money work for them! The aim is to teach them responsibility along with introducing them to the idea of how to become financially secure. The winner at the end is the player who has gathered enough assets to cover their expenses for the whole month. At the end the notion is to teach them how to follow rules properly, this combined with the intention of winning ensures that they win real money game that life presents and plays!

Recommended age 15 and older.
