Heavy hitters The Mis-Made and Blackbreaks have announced an East Coast run of shows together in January & February 2016. These bands are no strangers to sharing the stage, having members of both hailing from seminal rock acts Nitocris and Insurge who were prominent on the Australian rock scene in the 1990s and 2000s.

The Mis-Made have just returned from a successful tour of Europe where they also recorded their forthcoming double single “In Between”/”Red Eyes” at Studio Faust in Prague, due out first week of January. From the smoldering ashes of Nitocris and the dark chasms of Bitchslap, The Mis-Made originally formed in 2012 by singer-songwriter and lead guitarist, Jess Finlayson. Ms Finlayson reigns from Australian, all female, hard rock Sydney band Nitocris who tore through Australia and achieved many milestones, which include filling the main stage of Big Day Out, supporting Deep Purple, The Cult, Suicidal Tendencies and causing chaotic havoc through the 90s and 2000s. Finlayson has now teamed up with lead singer-songwriter and guitarist Jess Coram from Sydney band Bitchslap. Bitchslap terrorized the Australian/UK underground, grunge/rock scene through the early 2000s, spawning two EPs “Eat Me!” & “Give Me My Life Back”.

Blackbreaks formed in 2012 when Kerry Fouke (MM9) and Chris Dubrow (Insurge) joined forces combining their common influences such as Delta blues, Prodigy style sonics and the raw emotion and rage of punk rock. Kerry’s reputation for loud yet innovative guitar urgently required a fresh outlet and he aimed to take MM9 elements of hardened guitars and edgy electronics to a new level. Dubrow was known his industrial edged alt-rock and unrepentantly politically charged lyrics and after a period away from the limelight he felt a buildup of words, music and production ideas that needed a proper outlet. The early years produced two 4-track EPs – ‘Self-titled’ in 2012 and ‘Need Machines’ in 2014 and a single & video for “Driving At Night” released in September 2015 from their forthcoming new album.
