The Stitches & Craft Show invites Brisbane to get crafty and share the handmade experience at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Heralded as the place to purchase specialty stitching, paper and craft products and to see what’s new in craft, The Stitches & Craft Show is the destination for anyone who wants to Share the Handmade Experience. Leading the handcraft movement across Australia and NZ, this much-anticipated show offers a stunning range of exhibitions, displays, hands-on activities, guest artists, fashion parades, make and take classes, workshops, DIY ideas and more.

You don’t have to be a hippy chick to be in awe of the stunning 10-metre long knitted and crocheted ‘flower garden’, created to celebrate 50 Years of Flower Power. This display is made up of hundreds of bright floral motifs in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colours and is a perfect representation of the term ‘flower power’ which, incredibly, was coined 50 years ago. It is a truly global creation with more than 207 contributors from over 24 countries - including Brisbane, Australia, contributing to the display.

This year’s event debuts a new textile art exhibition that explores the ‘fourth dimension’ in cloth. Aptly named ‘A Matter of Time’, the exhibition curated by Brenda Gael Smith, features 32 new works by some of the world’s foremost quilters.

Also, just arrived in Australia, is an outstanding quilt exhibition from the USA, themed Food For Thought. This Studio Art Quilt Associates exhibition features 34 selected artworks by leading quilters, and explores the many aspects food plays in our daily lives.

Be spun-out by Australia’s most talented weaver Rainie Williams and enjoy one of her mini weaving workshops. Lust over beautiful bamboo looms, create fabric hangings for your wall or small items like scarves and enjoy the calming effects commonly associated with weaving.

It’s vintaaaggee darlinkk! The Love Vintage Show is back with a new look and commands its own definitive sense of chic. The main stage features vintage consultant Mistress Chrissy Keepence who will present styling demonstrations and makeovers.

Vintage exhibitors will be on hand to offer exquisite fashion, textiles and accessories, for you to enjoy a little retro renaissance.

There are great opportunities to learn a range of crafting skills with Workshops, Make & Take Classes, Pop-Up Classes and free demonstrations and seminars. This year we have a new free cake making seminar where you can learn to make oh so sweet teddy bear cake decorations.

Exhibitors at the show have an outstanding range of craft product to choose from and this show is the ideal place to stock up on hard to find products, learn new techniques from artists and designers, and be inspired to craft and create – all under one roof!

The Gift Shop offers an irresistible selection of souvenirs and handy tools that make ideal gifts.

A fixture in the diary for crafting queens, there’s something here for the whole family! Our budding young artists are invited to join the cool kids in the Kids’ Corner and meet event mascot, Crafty Cat for a little colouring-in…so, let’s sti-tch together, and have a great time!
