Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo is your once-a-year opportunity to experience the thrill and safety of riding the fully closed Great Ocean Road.
Held in Lorne on Sunday 11 September, the event includes a weekend of family-friendly activities that makes the Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo not just an event, but an experience.
There are three stunning distances to choose from guaranteed to suit every level of rider:
120km Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo – New reverse course that concludes with breathtaking views along the Great Ocean Road & finishes on the main street in Lorne.
45km Amy’s Medio Fondo – Showcases the entire stretch of the picturesque Great Ocean Road from Apollo Bay to Lorne (includes return bus).
7km Amy’s Family Fondo – Chose to do one or two laps of the 7km loop. Ideal for families, kids and the local community.
The event is a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier and with the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in France, the road to the rainbow jersey begins in Lorne.
With the full road closures and an online safety briefing for every rider, the event has a strong safety focus.
Now in its sixth year the event is held in memory of Australian cycling team member Amy Gillett, who was killed while training in Germany in 2005.
