NRL State of Origin II ticketholders urged to take public transport and arrive early for free pre-game entertainment.

The stage is set for one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year after the NSW Blues' 28–4 win against the Queensland Maroons in Game I of the 2017 NRL Holden State of Origin series.

Game II of the series will be held on Wednesday 21 June, with ticketholders strongly advised to leave the car at home and opt for public transport, which is included in the cost of NRL State of Origin tickets.

Those planning to drive despite advice otherwise should check the Sydney Olympic Park website for best driving routes and to pre-book parking. Motorists are urged to avoid the area as traffic will be heavy before and after the game.

Ticketholders will enjoy free pre-game entertainment at Sydney Olympic Park from 4:00pm, including:

- VB Sheds at Cathy Freeman Park (opposite ANZ Stadium)
- Loads of family friendly fan activities around ANZ Stadium and vox pops on the big screen
- International food stalls and trucks, plus 30 cafés, bars and restaurants trading across Olympic Park
- From 5:00pm: live music on stage at Cathy Freeman Park
- From dusk: Sydney Olympic Park landmarks awash with electrifying Blue lights in support of the NSW team

From about 6:00pm, the NSW Blues bus convoy will parade along Olympic Boulevard among what is sure to be a buzzing atmosphere in-precinct. Fans are encouraged to avoid the rush and arrive early to soak-up the free entertainment and awesome surroundings of the big game.

NSW Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres said: "I'm calling on all true blue supporters to head to the game and cheer on the NSW Blues to a historic series win".

Media commentators are reminded that Sydney Olympic Park is a suburb, as declared by the NSW Geographical Naming Board. Please use the correct reference ‘Sydney Olympic Park’ (or ‘Olympic Park’) and not Homebush, which is a separate suburb serviced by its own railway station approximately three kilometres away from Olympic Park station. Incorrect reference to the venue causes confusion and leads commuters to disembark at the wrong suburb.

Game II of the 2017 NRL Holden State of Origin series will kick-off at 8:00pm. ANZ Stadium Gates will open at 5:15pm.
