Anna Salleh and Guy Strazz present a slow-burning brew of honey-smooth bossa nova and ballads, irrepressible samba, playful swing, cool jazz and beyond. Songs of beauty, sorrow, irreverence and joy. Anna woos audiences with her vocal artistry and natural feel for the music of Rio de Janeiro, while maestro Guy's guitar sings with dazzling virtuosity and a deeply expressive, almost romantic strain.

Lovers of good music may know Anna from her long-standing residency at Sydney's Foundry616 jazz club. Her stellar five-piece band has often featured award-winning guitarist, composer and recording artist, Guy Strazz, well known for his collaborations with artists ranging from Slava Grigoryan, George Golla and Ashok Roy to Dale Barlow and Vince Jones. Guy Strazz, currently director of guitar at the Gosford Conservatorium, is one of Australia’s most awarded and accomplished guitarists, with numerous awards including the prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Music Fellowship and an APRA Award for ‘Best jazz album of the year’, as well as a vast list of overseas.

Anna and Guy present delicate and powerful duo interpretations of repertoire from the heart of Brazil and beyond. They will be well supported by other local and visiting performers. Don't miss this charming and intimate night of passion, music and fun!
