When artist Hannah Russell titled her new exhibition Look at Me, she wasn’t joking.

A life model since the 1970s, Ms Russell founded and ran the Life Models Society for 20 years from 1989. The new exhibition features Russell’s watercolours and mixed media pieces, as well as numerous images of her including sculptures, photographs and drawings by other artists.

Russell, of Seaford, said the most approachable art was pleasant visually and made a statement about its subject matter.

“I have chosen to focus on quirky montages, including interesting mobiles and macramé in my work,’’ she said.

Russell’s life drawings include both the artist and the model who is posing.

“I have always worked in mixed media, creating funky collages and montages.”
