Boxing Day is traditionally the day when the biggest blockbuster movies are released, so what better day to celebrate the release of our new blockbuster music video for "Mazreta"? Join us for two sets of Azadoota and a screening of the video. Come early and eat, support venues that support live music!

Doors/Restaurant 7pm.

"What is a Mazreta?", I hear you ask.

Mazreta means spinning top. Inspired by the schoolyard Beyblade craze, Robin is reminded of the spinning top toys from his childhood. Using the mazreta as a metaphor for heritage, the song challenges the Assyrian community to protect their heritage and at the same time to take ownership of their future. The top is spinning, who knows where it will stop—just as the world is turning and we will all face our day of reckoning.

A lush, trippy ambient rock number, this beautifully crafted song mirrors the action of the mazreta, spinning smoothly at first, then going a bit crazy and eventually rolling to a stop.
