‘Why don’t waves keep going?’ A simple question with no simple answer. In this 60-minute performance, four incarcerated individuals are left alone to contemplate life as they attempt to unpack some of the most basic understandings of human nature; who are these four strangers? Are they all connected, and will their questions be answered?

Blending live media and tight dialogue, company ’50 years’ brings their new work Before the End to the Melbourne Fringe Festival. What began as a commentary on the negative effects of the Western prison system and solitary confinement, has grown to an organic questioning of so much more. 50 Years were awarded the Deakin Drama Recognition Award for Industry Standard Ensemble Practice in 2016.
