The Blak Markets is a great chance to buy locally made gifts and products directly from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who made them in the knowledge that the profit goes back to Indigenous communities.

The day will begin with a welcome to country followed by live music, dance performances, workshops and will feature a new art exhibition Fire and Water—Warlukurlangu to Gadu featuring artists connected to the Aboriginal community of La Perouse alongside artists from Warlukurlangu Artists' Aboriginal Corporation from yuendumu NT.

This one day festival features cultural performances, art exhibition and workshops alongside great bushfood offerings and products to purchase.

The Blak Markets will host the inaugural art month at Bare Island, La Perouse this November, featuring a new art exhibition, art markets at hands-on workshops throughout the month.
The celebration launches the Blak Markets’ first art exhibition entitled, The exhibition will be officially opened to the public as part of the Blak Markets on Bare Island on Sunday, 5 November at 10am to 4pm, and will run until the end of November and all works are for sale. Bare Island is in Kamay Botany Bay National Park.

Warlukurlangu Artists will also host a painting workshop and there will be a new dance performance inspired by the Fire and Water theme, choreographed and presented by Kerry Johnson and the local Aboriginal women of the community.
