Improv for Life: Playfulness. Presence. Positivity.

Our 9-12’s improvisation program, drawing on the Just Improvise Hive of Nine Be's™, is designed for kids in that ‘in between stage’, providing a safe space and the freedom to explore who they are and how they want to be in life through the use of entertaining improv ideas, skills and games.

Improvisation is all about connecting with yourself and others—without technology—and studies have shown it can assist children to improve their social skills, reduce aggression and cope with change, amongst other benefits.

The course is created by Just Improvise co-founder and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) improv lecturer Glenn Hall. Glenn has been teaching and performing improv internationally for more than 20 years including helping to guide the careers of or performing with successful actors and comedians

Just Improvise utilises process driven drama, reducing the pressure from students to have to ‘perform’ or ‘get it right’. Improvisation is a process, where the product is created continuously. Parents and care-givers are invited to observe the last class of term, for more of an insight into this process and its over-arching benefits.

Class sizes are kept small to allow us tailor the curriculum to each group’s unique needs.
