Spend your summer holidays with some of Australia's most respected dance artists. For the first time in 2017, we will offer 3 programs (please note: Awaken will be offered in Winter only).

Applications open 15 March 2017
Awaken - available winter 2017

Awaken is a new addition to our BCDI Program, open to those students aged 12 and upward who are seeking a detailed introduction to contemporary dance technique. Focused on building skills, awakening new movement pathways and finding creative and explorative approaches to movement, this intensive 101 introduction to contemporary dance will give students all the foundational knowledge and confidence they need to embark on their contemporary dance studies. The Awaken program will provide focused half-day introductory sessions.

Expand

Our Expand program caters for dancers from the age of 14 and upward who are not yet in tertiary dance training or training full-time. The program aims to provide a stimulating and detailed training experience in which students can expand on their existing contemporary dance knowledge, discover new body connections, engage creatively with others, build confidence, and prepare for further studies in dance. A thorough and stimulating program delivered by EDC dancers and guest artists will cultivate an ongoing expanding awareness of contemporary dance.

Flourish

Designed for those aged 17 and over, our Flourish program provides an accelerated and focused experience for dancers currently in full time training and for professional dancers already in the industry. Flourish offers the opportunity for deep and concentrated focus on contemporary dance practice as well as the opportunity to build skills, networks and gain new personal insights. With access to exceptional teaching artists from EDC and Australia-wide, Expressions Dance Company will provide a training environment where dancers can identify potential career pathways and take their contemporary dance understanding to new levels.

The event will be held at the QUT Dance Studios 330 and 340.
