Thanks to funding from the Queensland Government (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, and the Queensland Family and Child Commission), NAPCAN is running free Child Safe Organisation workshops throughout Queensland during 2017.

Why should you attend?

In light of the Royal Commission we know that it is critical to embed a child safe culture into every single organisation that has anything to do with children or young people, either directly or indirectly. This means that every member of an organisation needs to understand their role in keeping children safe and preventing child abuse and neglect.

NAPCAN’s 3.5-hour interactive workshop covers:
- Simple things can you do to make sure your organisation is a safe place for children.
- How to make sure your employees and volunteers are well equipped to care for children.
- How you can improve your organisation by listening to young people and involving them in the decisions that affect them.
- Strategies and resources to make sure that children thrive in your environment.

The program also includes templates to help you with your policies and procedures including:
- Complaints Processes
- Code of Conduct
- Child Safety Policies
- Recruitment
- Organisational Audit

Who should attend?

- This is a brand new workshop designed to help all organisations to keep children and young people safe.
- You should attend this workshop if you work in an organisation that deals directly or indirectly with children e.g. healthcare professionals; teachers and childcare workers; business professionals; as well as members of sporting clubs, churches and leisure associations
