Christmas in Cooroy has become a fun, free, family-oriented tradition for Cooroy.

Every year the festive season kicks off with Christmas in Cooroy, adding an extra dab of excitement to December.

The festival starts with the Santa Sack Races, kindly sponsored by Cooroy Fish and Chips, where every child who participates wins a prize! After that the crowd gathers down the sides of Maple Street to watch The Noosa to Hinterland Plumbing Group Great Santa Race. Dozens of Santa-suit clad runners will make the 300 metre sprint to the top of Maple Street with all proceeds from the race donated to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Then comes the Bendigo Bank Street Parade! Full of floats, costumes, decorations, and maybe even a few treats, it is always a crowd favourite. Winding its way up Maple Street and back down again, each float is judged and eventually a winner is chosen, do you think you can pick this year’s winner?
The ever-popular East VS West Tug-of-War competition starts shortly after the Parade.

Who will win this year?! And as if that wasn’t enough, the big man in red, Santa Clause, will be making an appearance so he can chat to the children of Cooroy! And later in the evening the Cooroy RSL Fireworks display will light up the sky, giving a truly magical display.

But this isn’t all Christmas in Cooroy has to offer; there are heaps of free rides and entertainment as well as a variety of stalls to have a look at, open for the entire duration of the festival!

Grab your family and friends and head over to Apex Park from 4pm on Saturday 2 December to enjoy what Cooroy has to offer.
