She has been described as 'Australia’s rising star of jazz and blues' by Fine Music 102.5 FM and The Timeless Way is delighted to present singer and piano player Frances Madden with her band.

It has been a busy time for Frances. In the past year, she has supported the legendary Dionne Warwick and also Grammy Award-winner Gregory Porter in their Sydney concerts, headlined at the JZ Club in Shanghai as well as Manly Jazz Festival, Devonport Jazz Festival and the Festival of Voices here in Hobart. Sydney radio station Fine Music 102.5 FM announced Frances as their Stefan Kruger Award winner for 2017.

Frances captivates her audiences with a combination of her genuinely warm stage presence along with a voice and style that are uniquely her own. She is a talented songwriter so when she performs her own swinging tunes and beautiful ballads, they merge seamlessly with the timeless classics she covers.

Frances has won praise for her interpretation of timeless classics but it is her own original tunes that have made her music popular with a much wider audience.

James Morrison put it this way: “Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and unique style.”

As well as Frances on vocals and piano, her eight-piece band for the two shows at Timeless Way includes Matt Ives and some of Tasmania’s most talented jazz musicians and backing vocalists.

Frances says “We’ll be doing our Jazz, Blues & Classics show which includes some of my originals alongside our unique take on some timeless tunes. There will be some swing, some blues, some ballads, some lovely harmonies and also some improvisation from this great band. There will be something for everyone to enjoy so bring along some friends for dinner and we’ll make it a great evening for all.”

Early booking is highly recommended.
