The Growing Friends Group holds two public plant sales each year. These are the only opportunities for members of the public to buy rare plants propagated from Gardens' stock. This spring the sale will be part of the Botanic and Rare Plant Fair.

Presented by Melbourne Friends. A full catalogue is available on the Friends' website one week before the sale. Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Melbourne Friends and The Diggers Club are hosting the exciting Botanic and Rare Plant Fair.

Indulge your passion for rare and unusual plants at Melbourne's best celebration of all things botanic! With forty specialist plant and gardenware stalls selling everything the discerning and budding plant hunter needs, this year’s event is bursting with big, fresh inspiring ideas!

Ticket includes entry to a curated program of talks, demonstrations and interactive debates with industry luminaries and gardening identities under the banner of ‘Towards 2050: Homo Sapiens vs Plants, Trees and Seeds’, designed to inform, entertain and provoke, with challenging ideas and fresh new concepts.

Join us at this fantastic spring garden event that includes activities for junior gardeners and lively family fun, as well as practical and creative ideas about growing food, urban gardens, and nurturing our living planet.

Proceeds from this event assist the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria to advance the understanding and appreciation of plants.
