Charles is trying to learn Spanish.

Mia bursts into Charles’ apartment. Charles fixes Mia a drink.

Confronted by their differences, these two odd socks push each other to confront their deepest insecurities through imaginative role play (Mia’s idea). From stories about korma curry and diamonds, to sex with a lumberjack atop an icy mountain, their chasm of difference is bridged one piña colada at a time.

‘Odd Socks’ is an hilarious journey of two odd socks stuck in a room forced to reflect on the horrible decisions they have made. An exploration of how stepping out of our echo-chambers and confronting what we believed, isn’t all that scary. Mia and Charles learn that their insecurities make them interesting, somewhat infuriating, and the best of friends.

Odd Socks is the latest creation from the minds of LA based actor, Megan Hollier, fresh from her studies at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and award-winning theatre maker Gemma Hall.

This project is their exploration of how the people we meet can change our lives for ever, even if we don’t know it yet. Odd Socks takes aim at our old habits and fear of people that are different, and confronts its audience with the possibility of how fun change could be.
