“See Things Like You is top quality cabaret.” - Broadway World Review, 2016

“Smokey, bluesy numbers and Kerouac meets Piaf. Everyone fits in at The Green tile tango club…it’s the place to be seen. You could be watching someone, and someone could be watching you.”

Singer, Songwriter and recording artist Jen de Ness, is a vivacious entertainer who delights audiences worldwide with her ability to sing everything from beautiful blues and slick swing to fun jazz cabaret alongside her ability to entertain, tell some good tales and connect with her audience.

"See things like you" is a cleverly devised cabaret piece about the quirky people who regularly attend an imaginary venue, The Green Tile Tango Club.” Their heartwarming and intertwining stories are told through a musical smorgasbord of swing tunes, blues, tango, bossanova and French Cabaret. As Broadway World Review concluded from Jen’s 2016 shows, “Jen sings across a great variety of musical genre, and is a most expressive singer, with the unique ability to create and rapidly switch between characters, with all of the emotional content in the songs subtly dealt with.”

Drawing on songs from the “See things like you” Album the show features the smooth, sultry and entertaining vocals of Jen, supported by slick guitar and backing vocals from Bill Atkinson moving cello from Peter Grayling and cool rhythms from Vince Pavitt on drums.

The title track to the show is a cool swing tune sung by Jen’s Kerouac inspired character, Sam who comes to the club to revive his ailing writing career. Another main character is Jacquie, a hilariously sultry combination of Piaf, Dietrich and Madeline Kahn. A woman who got on the plane, got dumped and lived to tell the tale!"

"The whole idea of a performance where songs of love and loss are related to various characters, all within one venue, makes for a very solid cabaret show...the excellent song-writing, the very fine guitar playing of Bill Atkinson, the magnificent voice of Jen de Ness makes this a very special production." - Broadway World Review, 2015

“...a stunning version of Cry Me a River which is worth buying the album for. Hopefully this accomplished performer will return to Adelaide soon.” - Glam Adelaide, 2016

"Both polished and intimate. Original bluesy-jazz numbers intermingled with classic torch songs. An interesting and original show by an engaging and amusing performer." - Theatre Guide Adelaide, July 2015

“See Things Like You Is Top Quality Cabaret. In a return visit, Jen has recruited 3 of Adelaide's finest jazz musicians...she is a most expressive singer, with a unique ability to create and rapidly switch between characters, with all of the emotional content in the songs subtly dealt with. Be sure to catch her shows whenever she is in Adelaide.” - Broadway World Review, 2016

“Sultry, scintillating and completely mesmerising. Jen knows how to command the stage.” - Pheasantry Club Show, London
