Real, live anger performed on stage by an authentic, anti-social Barbarian.

Featuring gruesome battle renditions, piano recitals of Bach and readings of Robert Frost, this powerful and hilarious show by legendary solo performer Jo Randerson has a 20 year history of waking up those who have fallen asleep.

Randerson began performing the show in her 20s, and now as a 40-year old mother-of-two the show has different edges. The text has been re-performed by many young women in New Zealand who seek an alternative to the bland, weepy characters written for them, and is a favourite with young and old audiences who strive for the world beyond neo-liberalism.

“In a society in which there are still so few dense roles for women, Randerson’s gutsy meaty character is a real gift to New Zealand theatre…a timeless political piece that calls the apathetic to action and re-energises those already fighting the fight…an iconic New Zealand work.” - Theatreview
