GMIC is the largest and most influential tech event in Asia. Over the past 9 years, it has brought together the world’s most respected thought leaders, cutting-edge researchers and industry pioneers to push forward the frontiers of technology. In 2017, GMIC is coming to Australia for the first time at the ICC Sydney, gathering 1000 of Australia and Asia’s leading startup founders, tech executives, scientists and VCs.

Local and international industry leaders will gather to present and exchange insights under the theme of ‘New Frontiers of Intelligence’, highlighting the most exciting new achievements from the Australian scientific research and technology industries.

As part of GMIC+Sydney, there will be a competition offering eight of the most innovative Australian start-ups a chance to secure investment opportunities to propel them into the markets of Asia. GMIC’s “Shark Tank” inspired start-up competition has been held in eight other cities around the world and is responsible for the success of companies including App Annie, Scoutible and Didi.

Speakers at GMIC+Sydney will include Zoe Zhou, Partner at Forbes China; Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) Partner and media and entertainment specialist, Megan Brownlow; Liming Zhu, Research director of DATA61; Sophie Gilder, Head of Blockchain at Commonwealth Bank of Australia; Yusong Yan, CEO of Linekong, artificial intelligence experts from iFlytek and many, many more.

There will also be an exhibition hall of over 80 tech-focused companies and research groups showcasing their latest products, providing guests a firsthand experience of what the future looks like.
