Thousands of retro fans will celebrate the coming of age of GreazeFest Kustom Kulture Festival as Australia’s revered rockabilly spectacular turns 18 in August.

Presented by Robot Productions, GreazeFest will see over 10,000 revellers rock and roll into Cleveland Showgrounds for a full-tilt weekend of Kustom Kulture, the term used to describe everything rockabilly and hot rodded.

GreazeFest will feature international rockabilly acts, hepcat DJs, jive dancing, jaw-dropping hot rods, lowrider cycles, classic bikes, pin-up parades, art displays and competitions, tiki carving, market stalls, food trucks and much more.

Event organiser Lori Lee Cash said a bumper event was planned to celebrate GreazeFest’s 18th birthday, with a packed program of ultra-cool entertainment, starring rockers Pike Cavalero from Spain and Eddie Gazel from France, along with top Australian rockabilly acts, Rusty Pinto, Benny and The Flybyniters, The Detonators, The Lincolns, and many more.

“We are very excited to be hosting the 18th anniversary of GreazeFest at our new home at Cleveland Showgrounds. It will be a joy to celebrate with our Kustom Kulture community, many of whom have been with us since the very beginning, as well as with those who have recently discovered the delights of the rockabilly lifestyle,” Ms Cash said.

The GreazeFest concerts are complemented by the huge, two-day hot rod display. Always a highlight of GreazeFest, the event will be brimming with more than 500 classic vehicles from the 1920s to the 1970s, with drivers from across the nation heading to the show to compete for a prized GreazeFest trophy.

The event’s visual art component features the GreazeFest RSPCA Album Cover Art Challenge, where 20 international and Australian artists will be hand-painting a record album cover. The public will vote for their favourite by donating a coin and all proceeds are donated to the RSPCA.

Other art activities include specialised workshops, the kustom kulture art exhibition, plus live painting, pinstriping and tiki statue carving. Guest artists include Von Hot Rod (USA), Cathy “Artgirlcathy” Mejia (USA), Krazy Dotty (Japan), Cherry Dollface (USA) and Tiki Dylan (Australia).

For lovers of vintage style, the GreazeFest Pinup Parades showcase the influence of the glamour icons of the 1940s and 1950s; and patrons wanting the rockabilly look can receive their own hairstyle and make over from many of the stylists at the event. Pinup fans can also meet special guest Sabina Kelley (USA), who is adored in the pinup and photography world and has marked her legacy through countless magazine covers, calendars, music videos and most recently as a judge on the television program 'Best Ink'.

GreazeFest boasts more than 120 specialist market stalls featuring all sorts of rockabilly temptations including vintage clothing, cowboy boots, rocking records, vintage signs and decals, hair grease, cherry pins, kool kids wear, model cars, cats eye sunglasses and more.

Centrally located in the beautiful Redlands Shire, the GreazeFest event provides on site parking and convenient public transport options.

Tickets for GreazeFest are now on sale with discounts available for advance purchasers, plus buyers go in the running to win a hand-carved tiki statue valued at more than $500.
