Roots/rock road warriors Grizzlee Train return with amped-up new EP, All About You.

One of Australia’s most road-worn two-piece bands, Grizzlee Train have returned from two years of worldwide touring with a brand new EP and a seemingly endless supply of energy to burn.

Since the release of the 2016 ‘Burned Him Again’ EP, the pair from the NSW Central Coast has toured almost non-stop across Australia, Europe and the USA. The ‘All About You’ EP is the result of many vigorous songwriting sessions in cheap hotel rooms and the back of tour vans, with the band having to take any opportunity available to write in between gigs & tours.

“The only chance we really had to jam these songs before recording them was at gigs & soundchecks,” says drummer Josh Dufficy.

“The entire recording process took almost a year as we were only able to spend a day or two in the studio at a time due to touring schedules.”

But the band is adamant that the relentless touring lifestyle, throughout which ‘All About You’ was conceived, is what gives the EP a uniquely aggressive sound. Guitarist Brandon Dodd states: “we’re predominantly a roots band, but some of these songs were screaming out for a heavier rock sound, and we didn’t want to fight that.” This was a direction that was developed by the band’s award-winning producer, Nash Chambers.

“Being so all over the place when writing these tracks meant that there’s a lot of different influences and subjects being explored,” explains Dufficy. “There’s a bit of everything on there—ove songs, murder tales, there’s even a track about the catholic church…which was a little weird for us to get serious for once!”

The ‘All About You’ EP is another notch in the belt for the already accomplished duo. The Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 busking champions are building a reputation for being one of the industry’s hardest-working bands.

To celebrate the release of the ‘All About You’ EP, Grizzlee Train are touring the east coast from late October 2017.
